Warriors of Chaos: Champions of Chaos

The greatest warriors of the northern tribes walk the Path to Glory in search of power, favour and immortality. Those strong enough to survive rise above their rivals as Champions of Chaos, leading warbands south in the name of the Dark Gods.

This multipart kit builds two imposing character miniatures for a Warriors of Chaos army in Warhammer: The Old World. One Champion fights on foot, while the other surveys the battlefield from the back of a vicious Daemonic Mount. With a selection of weapon and equipment options, the models can represent Chaos Lords, Exalted Champions or Aspiring Champions, giving you considerable freedom when creating the commanders of your army.

Product Features

The kit builds a pair of heavily armoured Champions of Chaos, each designed to stand apart from the rank-and-file warriors beneath their command.

One Champion is mounted on a powerful Daemonic Mount and wears ornate Chaos Armour marked by spikes, heavy trim, rough textures and the scars of countless battles. The second Champion fights on foot and can provide a commanding focal point among your infantry.

A wealth of weapon and equipment options allows you to personalise both characters. The kit also includes an enormous battle standard, mounted on a crude wooden pole reinforced with metal and crowned by an eight-pointed Star of Chaos. Either Champion can carry this banner when fielded as a Battle Standard Bearer.

Assembly and Painting

The Champions of Chaos miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted. Citadel Plastic Glue is recommended for building, while Citadel Colour paints can be used to bring their corrupted armour and trophies to life.

These characters offer plenty of enjoyable painting opportunities. Weathered metal, heavy armour plates, ragged cloth, battle damage and the twisted flesh of the Daemonic Mount can all be used to reflect the journey each Champion has taken along the Path to Glory. The vast battle standard also provides an excellent surface for freehand symbols, Chaos runes or the colours of your chosen Dark God.

Battlefield Role

Champions of Chaos provide powerful leaders for Warriors of Chaos armies in The Old World. Depending on how they are equipped, the miniatures can represent several different levels of Chaos commander, from an ambitious Aspiring Champion to a mighty Chaos Lord.

The mounted Champion fits naturally alongside Chaos Knights and other fast-moving elements of the army, while the foot Champion can advance among the heavily armoured ranks of Chaos Warriors. Building one miniature as a Battle Standard Bearer also gives your force a suitably imposing icon around which its warriors can gather.

With their brutal armour, equipment options and commanding poses, the Champions of Chaos capture everything that makes the Warriors of Chaos such an unmistakable army. They are rewarding character models to build and paint, and imposing figures around which to assemble a new warband or expand an existing northern horde.
