Paint Brushes

The right brush makes miniature painting easier and gives you much more control over the finished result. Here you will find Citadel paint brushes for everything from covering large areas and applying shades to highlighting armour, painting faces and adding the smallest details.

Base brushes are designed for applying smooth blocks of colour, while layer brushes give you greater control when building highlights and picking out individual areas. Shade brushes hold more paint and are useful when applying washes across a miniature. Drybrushes are made for catching raised texture, making them especially useful for fur, stone, armour, scenery and textured bases.

If you are working on smaller details, consider a Citadel Small Layer Brush or an Extra Small Artificer Layer Brush. Larger models and scenery may be easier to tackle with a Citadel Large Base Brush or scenery brush.
