If you’re into the Thunderbolt line, this one is an absolute monster of a kit. The Psycho Zaku from Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt is everything you’d expect from Zeon’s answer to overwhelming firepower – covered in weapons, thrusters, and insane detail. This Ver. Ka release really leans into that mechanical complexity, with layered armour, flexible joint covers, and a ridiculous backpack system that makes the finished build feel massive on display. It’s one of those kits that just looks aggressive from every angle, and honestly, it’s hard not to admire how over-the-top it is once fully built.
Grade – Master Grade (MG)
As a Master Grade kit – this 1/100 scale Psycho Zaku – delivers a high level of detail and articulation with Katoki Hajime’s signature Ver. Ka styling throughout. It’s a more involved build than lower grades, but incredibly rewarding if you enjoy a more technical Gunpla experience.
Why You’ll Like It
If you love heavily armed mobile suits, this is about as good as it gets. The sheer volume of weapons and equipment makes it feel like a centrepiece kit straight away. The Thunderbolt aesthetic gives it a gritty, industrial look that really stands out compared to cleaner Gundam designs. It’s also just a brilliant build for anyone who enjoys complex engineering in Gunpla – there’s a lot going on here, and that’s exactly the appeal. Once it’s finished, it dominates a shelf in the best possible way.
