Legiones Astartes: MKIV Assault Squad

Assault Squads bring a fast and aggressive playstyle to the battlefield, using jump packs to soar over obstacles and strike at the heart of the enemy. Armed for close-quarters fighting they attack with chainswords roaring and bolt pistols blazing.

This multipart plastic kit builds 10 Assault Legionaries wearing Mark IV ‘Maximus’ armour. The clean lines, redesigned helmets and armoured external cabling of this pattern give the squad a distinctive appearance, while its balance of mobility and protection makes it particularly well suited to these fast-moving warriors.

Product Features

The Legiones Astartes MKIV Assault Squad can be assembled as a standard Assault Squad with each Legionary carrying a chainsword and bolt pistol. Alternatively, the miniatures can be equipped with power lances and fielded as a Veteran Assault Squad.

The kit includes an extensive selection of interchangeable components for personalising your unit. You will find 10 helmeted heads, two bare heads, 18 shoulder pads and 15 additional accessories, including grenades and pouches.

The Sergeant has several suitably imposing weapon combinations. He can be equipped with two power fists, two power claws, or a power fist or power claw paired with a bolt pistol.

None of the miniatures carry Legion-specific markings, allowing you to add the squad to any loyalist or traitor Legiones Astartes army. The included transfer sheet provides icons and markings for the Sons of Horus, Iron Warriors, Salamanders and Imperial Fists.

Assembly and Painting

This MKIV Assault Squad is supplied unassembled and unpainted. We recommend Citadel Plastic Glue for assembly, with Citadel Colour paints for bringing your Legion to life.

The smooth armour panels of Mark IV plate provide plenty of space for clean Legion colours, weathering and battle damage. Jump packs, power weapons, cabling and interchangeable accessories also give you opportunities to add squad markings and individual details while keeping the unit visually cohesive.

Battlefield Role

The MKIV Assault Squad are rapid-attack units designed to swoop across the battlefield and engage the enemy in close combat. Jump packs allow them to bypass terrain and defensive positions – making them a natural choice for striking targets.

Built as a Veteran Assault Squad, the unit gains the distinctive appearance of power lances throughout its ranks. Whether used as aggressive line-breakers or veteran close-combat specialists, these Legionaries add a fast and visually striking element to any Legiones Astartes force.
