T’au Empire: Kroot Farstalkers

Kroot Farstalkers are seasoned mercenaries who spend years travelling far beyond the Kroot home world in search of worthy prey, valuable trophies and profitable contracts. Experienced raiders, scouts and infiltrators, they combine traditional Kroot hunting skills with an assortment of weapons gathered throughout their long careers.

This multipart plastic kit brings plenty of character to a T’au Empire collection, building a varied band of veteran hunters accompanied by two swift Kroot Hounds. Every miniature has its own distinctive pose and equipment, giving the squad the appearance of an experienced hunting party rather than a conventional military unit.

Product Features

The kit builds 10 Kroot Farstalkers and 2 Kroot Hounds, with a wide selection of weapons, heads and accessories for customising the squad.

The Farstalkers can be equipped with a mixture of Farstalker firearms, pistols, blades and paired close combat weapons. Specialist equipment includes the Dvorgite skinner and Londaxi tribalest, while the Kroot Kill-broker can be assembled with several different weapon combinations.

There are 13 interchangeable Kroot heads and two interchangeable Kroot Hound heads, alongside optional accessories such as ammunition, grenades, pistols, blades and hunks of meat. One Farstalker can also be accompanied by a Pech’ra, adding another distinctive detail to the hunting party.

Assembly and Painting

The T’au Empire: Kroot Farstalkers miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly. Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints are recommended.

This is an especially enjoyable kit for painters who like organic textures and individually detailed models. The Kroot provide plenty of opportunities to work with skin tones, leather, bone, feathers and weathered equipment, while their collected weapons and accessories can be painted to suggest years spent travelling between distant battlefields.

Battlefield Role

Kroot Farstalkers provide T’au Empire armies with an aggressive infantry unit suited to close-range combat and mid-range firefights. Their equipment reflects their role as raiders and ambush hunters. This gives them a different battlefield role from the typical firing lines and advanced battlesuits associated with the T’au Empire.

They are a characterful choice for collectors looking to expand the Kroot elements of their force, complementing other auxiliaries while reinforcing the scouting, hunting and mercenary identity of the faction.
