Description
Mirkwood Battlehost
Defend the Woodland Realm with the Mirkwood Battlehost, a 42-miniature collection for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. Legolas, Captain of the King’s Guard, and the respected warrior Tauriel lead 20 Palace Guards and 20 Mirkwood Rangers into battle, creating a sizeable Elven force for starting or expanding a Halls of Thranduil army.
The combination of ornate, heavily armoured warriors and lightly equipped forest rangers gives this Battlehost a distinctive Mirkwood character. It is also a varied hobby project, with two recognisable heroes surrounded by disciplined guards and stealthy archers.

Assembly and Painting
The Mirkwood Battlehost requires assembly and is supplied unpainted. Citadel Plastic Glue and Warhammer Colour paints are recommended.
The two units provide contrasting painting opportunities. The detailed armour and weapons of the Palace Guard suit clean metallic finishes and rich colours associated with the Elvenking’s halls. The Rangers can be painted with woodland greens, muted browns and natural tones to reflect their role as guardians of the forest.
Legolas and Tauriel provide natural focal points for the collection, while subtle variations in hair, clothing and equipment can give the wider force some individuality without losing its unified Elven appearance.
Battlefield Role
The Mirkwood Battlehost combines two heroes with a large body of specialist Elven warriors. Palace Guards form the heavily armoured close-combat element of the force, while Mirkwood Rangers provide skilled archery and the ability to threaten enemies from a distance.
This mixture gives new players an introduction to two different types of Mirkwood warrior. Established collectors can use the set to add considerable numbers to a Halls of Thranduil army, reinforcing both its melee and ranged elements.
With Legolas and Tauriel at its head, the Mirkwood Battlehost captures the elegance and martial skill of the Woodland Realm. It is a characterful project for anyone who wants to build, paint and command an Elven army inspired by The Hobbit.
Note: This product is intended for hobby use and is unsuitable for children under 12. All miniatures are supplied unpainted and will require assembly.
