Description
HG 1/144 Guncannon (Cucuruz Doan’s Island Ver.)
If you’ve seen Cucuruz Doan’s Island, you’ll know this version of the Guncannon hits differently. It’s got that rugged, slightly worn-down look that really captures the grounded, almost survivalist feel of the film. As a fan, this kit feels like a proper character piece rather than just another mass-production unit – it’s still unmistakably the classic Guncannon, but with a softer, more realistic edge in its proportions and detailing. Bandai have done a great job translating that updated design into a clean, modern High Grade kit.
What Grade is this Gunpla?
This is a High Grade (HG) 1/144 scale model, meaning it’s simple enough to build, well-engineered and ideal whether you’re building your first Gunpla or adding something unique to your Universal Century collection. Expect solid articulation, colour-separated parts and a straightforward build that doesn’t sacrifice detail.
Why You’ll Like It
What stands out here is the design direction – it’s less “anime hero” and more of a grounded military machine. The proportions feel more realistic and the subtle redesign gives it a fresh identity without losing what makes the Guncannon an iconic battlesuit. The shoulder cannons are fully articulated enabling you to pose it in those classic firing stances and the overall build feels sturdy once completed.
It’s also a great companion piece if you’re collecting kits from the Cucuruz Doan’s Island line, fitting perfectly alongside the RX-78-02 and Zakus from the same release wave. If you enjoy Gunpla with a bit more personality and story behind it, this one’s an easy recommendation.
