Description
Cold Covenant (HB)
Peter Fehervari explores the unsettling side of the Imperium in Cold Covenant, a Black Library Warhammer 40,000 hardback novel. Following soldiers of the 27th Halgarth Brine Dogs, this Astra Militarum story brings the fear of another deployment into contact with something far stranger.
Synopsis
After months stationed on Oblazt, an isolated world under the control of a corrupt aristocracy, the Brine Dogs are preparing to leave. Their next destination is a death world, and some among them have no intention of making the journey.
Three veterans and a mysterious enginseer plot to desert. Yet escaping their duty offers no simple route to safety. Beneath Oblazt’s frozen surface lies an ancient darkness, and the world’s ghosts refuse to remain silent.
Why You Will Like It
If you enjoy Warhammer 40,000 fiction with an unsettling atmosphere and an occult edge, Cold Covenant offers an intriguing premise. Its focus on soldiers trying to escape their next war gives the horror a human starting point, where fear and the instinct to survive drive dangerous choices.
Readers drawn to Fehervari’s Dark Coil stories will recognise the appeal of a far future where the greatest threats are not always found across the battlefield.
