Warhammer Colour: Shade Tyran Blue 18ml
Tyran Blue Shade Paint 18ml from Warhammer Colour adds cool blue shadows to miniatures, helping define recessed details and create greater depth across blue colour schemes. It is particularly useful for shading armour panels, cloth folds, scales, machinery and other textured areas where a controlled blue shadow will strengthen the surrounding colour.
The Shade formulation flows naturally into recessed areas while leaving less pigment on raised details. This makes Tyran Blue a useful choice for bringing out sculpted textures, separating adjoining panels and adding contrast without covering the underlying paintwork.
The 18ml pot comes in the new Warhammer Colour branding, replacing the previous Citadel Colour presentation.
Using Tyran Blue Shade paint
Apply Tyran Blue over a completely dry basecoat using a controlled brush. Guide the paint into panel lines, folds and other recessed details, allowing the Shade formulation to collect naturally where deeper shadows are needed.
When shading a larger area, spread the paint evenly and check for unwanted pooling before it begins to dry. Keeping the application controlled helps retain a cleaner finish across raised surfaces while concentrating the strongest blue tones in the recesses.
For deeper shadows, allow the first application to dry fully before adding another controlled coat to selected areas. Raised details can then be restored with the original base colour or a suitable Layer paint, creating a clearer transition between the shaded recesses and brighter surfaces.
Tyran Blue can also be applied selectively around joints, armour panels and detailed components when a full wash is not required. This gives you greater control over the placement of shadows and helps preserve brighter areas of the miniature.
Supplied in an 18ml pot. The water-based formula allows brushes to be cleaned with water after use.
