Warhammer Colour: Layer White Scar 12ml
White Scar Layer paint adds a bright white finish to your miniature highlights and details. It is a useful choice for sharp armour edges, pale cloth and the final touches that help a model stand out. This 12ml pot comes in the new Warhammer Colour branding, replacing the previous Citadel Colour presentation.
A little white can make a big difference to a painted miniature. Use it to pick out the lightest parts of a grey or white scheme, or add a small spot of brightness to a detail. The Layer formulation lets you build up the colour in thin coats, giving you control over where the brightest areas appear.
Using White Scar Layer paint
Start over a dry basecoat and thin the paint with a little water on your palette. Apply a small amount at a time, allowing each coat to dry before adding another. Several thin coats help you build a smooth finish while keeping the sculpted details clear.
For white armour or cloth, leave a pale grey visible in the shaded areas and use White Scar on the raised sections. This keeps the shape of the miniature easy to read. If you cover every recess with the same bright white, you can lose some of that definition.
When highlighting an armour edge, use a brush with a fine point and keep the line narrow. You can then add a smaller touch to the corners that catch the most light. Try the same approach on folds of cloth, shield rims or raised symbols for a neat finishing touch.
It is also handy for tiny reflections on lenses and gems. Place a small dot towards one edge to suggest a glint of light, keeping the surrounding colour visible. Whether you are finishing a character or working through a squad, this bright white earns its place on the painting desk.
Supplied in a 12ml pot. Clean your brush with water after use.
