Warhammer Colour: Layer Brass Scorpion 12ml

Brass Scorpion Layer Paint 12ml from Warhammer Colour gives miniatures a warm metallic bronze finish, making it particularly useful for armour, weapons, machinery, decorative trim and carefully picked-out details. Its rich metallic colour suits everything from functional mechanical components to ornate equipment and embellishments.

This versatile colour can be used across a complete metallic area or applied more selectively over a darker basecoat. It is especially effective for creating warm bronze highlights, defining raised edges and bringing additional contrast to brass or copper-coloured sections.

The 12ml pot comes in the new Warhammer Colour branding, replacing the previous Citadel Colour presentation.

Using Brass Scorpion Layer paint

Apply Brass Scorpion over a completely dry basecoat using several controlled coats where needed. Keeping each layer smooth and allowing it to dry before applying the next helps preserve the miniature’s sculpted details.

For armour, weapons and machinery, Brass Scorpion can be applied over a darker metallic or brown base colour to build a warm bronze finish. Leave some of the darker colour showing in the recesses to create natural depth and separation between panels, rivets and mechanical components.

The paint is also well suited to edge highlighting. Use a fine brush to apply it along raised edges, decorative trim and small metallic details where the light would naturally catch the surface. This can help define the shape of armour plates and make intricate features easier to see.

For a brighter result, concentrate additional thin coats on the most prominent areas while keeping the deeper sections darker. Brass Scorpion can also be combined with suitable shades and lighter metallic highlights as part of a more developed bronze or brass colour scheme.

Supplied in a 12ml pot. The water-based formula allows brushes to be cleaned with water after use.
