Description

Chaos Space Marines Raptors

Chaos Space Marines Raptors are jump pack-equipped hunters who descend upon the battlefield with terrifying speed. Drawn from across the Traitor Legions, these predatory warriors live for the chase, amplifying their battle cries as they crash into enemy lines with chainswords, specialist weapons and brutal close-range firepower.

This multipart plastic kit builds five Raptors for a Chaos Space Marines army in games of Warhammer 40,000. Fast, aggressive and highly customisable, they are ideal for hobbyists who want a unit that captures the savage, corrupted character of the Heretic Astartes while adding valuable mobility to their force. The kit can alternatively be assembled as five Warp Talons, creating a dedicated melee unit with an even more mutated appearance.

Product Features

The kit provides a wide range of interchangeable components for creating an individual squad. It includes 12 head options, 10 shoulder pads, 10 jump pack thrusters and fins, and 10 additional accessories, giving you plenty of scope to vary the appearance of each miniature.

The Raptor Champion can be equipped with a bolt pistol or plasma pistol alongside a power sword, chainsword or power fist. Alternatively, the Champion can carry a large chainaxe in both hands and can be distinguished with a unique head.

The remaining Raptors offer numerous weapon choices, including chainswords, bolt pistols, plasma pistols, a flamer, plasma gun and meltagun. The kit also includes parts for a heavily mutated warrior and a two-handed polearm, allowing you to add further variety and Chaos character to the squad.

The entire unit can instead be built as Warp Talons, making this a flexible kit for collectors expanding the close-combat elements of a Chaos Space Marines army.

Box Contents

This boxed set contains:

  • 160 plastic components
  • 5 Citadel 32mm Round Bases
  • 1 Chaos Space Marines Infantry Transfer Sheet
  • 1 construction guide

The included transfer sheet contains 364 waterslide transfers for the Black Legion, Thousand Sons, Word Bearers, Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors and Night Lords, with icons in a variety of sizes for decorating your miniatures.

Assembly and Painting

Chaos Space Marines Raptors require assembly and are supplied unpainted. Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints are recommended.

The combination of corrupted armour, exposed cabling, mutated flesh, trophy details and elaborate jump packs makes this a particularly enjoyable unit to paint. The interchangeable parts also provide plenty of opportunities to match the squad to a particular Traitor Legion or create a more individual warband.

Battlefield Role

Raptors use both speed and close-range hitting power, allowing them to engage enemy units quickly while the rest of your army advances. Their jump packs make them suited to disrupting enemy units, attacking vulnerable units and applying pressure where it is needed most.

Building the kit as Warp Talons instead creates an elite unit dedicated entirely to melee combat. Whichever option you choose, the squad adds a fast and aggressive element that complements the heavier infantry, vehicles and daemonic units found throughout a Chaos Space Marines force.

With their dynamic poses, savage weaponry and extensive customisation options, Chaos Space Marines Raptors are an excellent project for anyone who wants to add a visually striking airborne unit to their collection.
