Pre-Orders Live From 10am
From 10:00am on Saturday, the latest Games Workshop pre-orders will be available both in-store here at Bomran Games in Corringham, Essex, and through our website for hobbyists across the UK.
What we really like about this week’s release schedule is just how much variety there is. Whether your passion is building huge armies, diving into Black Library novels, or expanding your Horus Heresy collection, there’s plenty to get excited about.
Battleforces Return
Battleforce boxes are always among the most anticipated releases of the year, and this weekend sees four fantastic armies getting the Battleforce treatment.
Chaos Space Marine players can begin forging their own warband with the Chaos Space Marines Warband, packed with a great mix of elite warriors, cultists and daemon engines.
The Astra Militarum also receive an impressive Platoon Battleforce, combining infantry, armour and artillery into a force that perfectly captures the relentless might of the Imperial Guard.
If you’re a fan of the Hive Mind, the Tyranid Swarm Battleforce brings together a fantastic collection of bioforms led by a fearsome Hive Tyrant, while Necron collectors can begin awakening an ancient dynasty with the impressive Necron Host.
Battleforces have always been a brilliant way to expand an existing army or begin a completely new project, so it’s great to see four very different factions represented in one release.
Astra Militarum Receive New Reinforcements
Imperial Guard commanders have even more to celebrate this weekend.
The new Centaur Rapid Strike Vehicle offers a fast and flexible transport option, while the Hippogriff Armoured Fighting Vehicle brings a choice of heavy weaponry to support advancing forces.
Alongside these new vehicles comes one of Black Library’s most iconic heroes in miniature form. Commissar Ciaphas Cain finally makes his way onto the tabletop, accompanied by his loyal aide Jurgen in a wonderfully characterful kit that fans have been waiting to see for years.
It’s one of those releases that feels just as exciting for Black Library readers as it does for Warhammer 40,000 players.
Horus Heresy Continues to Grow
The Age of Darkness also gets some excellent additions.
The new Whirlwind Missile Tank provides long-range fire support for Legiones Astartes armies, while the Maximus Battle Group offers an excellent collection of iconic Space Marine units for anyone looking to reinforce their Legion.
For players who enjoy the brutal close-quarters fighting of Zone Mortalis, the latest Journal Tactica: Zone Mortalisintroduces new missions, updated rules and additional content to bring even more tactical depth to games fought amongst cramped corridors and fortress complexes.
Black Library Fans Are Spoilt This Week
It’s also a particularly exciting weekend for readers.
The Sabbat Worlds Crusade returns in a beautiful hardback edition, bringing one of the most celebrated pieces of Imperial military lore back into print.
Fans of Ciaphas Cain can look forward to the beautifully presented For the Emperor – Illustrated & Annotated Edition, while Krakenblood, Vagabond Squadron, and Starseer’s Ruin all arrive in paperback, giving readers plenty to add to their reading pile.
Whether you’re looking for battlefield action, incredible artwork or immersive Warhammer lore, there’s no shortage of new books arriving this week.
